What to Do
After Adamas, you’ll head uphill to Plaka, the island’s capital. Here, you can visit the Plaka Castle, the Milos Archaeological Museum, and the Milos Folklore Museum. A short hike will take you to the famous Catacombs of the island, as well as to Ancient Klima, where the famous Venus de Milo statue was discovered, which is now displayed in the Louvre.
Your journey through Milos will lead you to the prehistoric settlement of Phylakopi, the island’s second port, Pollonia, from where you can take a boat to Kimolos, and the island’s mesmerizing beaches. If we had to choose just one beach, though a difficult decision, it would be Sarakiniko with its breathtaking lunar landscape. You will also encounter therapeutic hot springs at various spots across the island.
Milos’ awe-inspiring and unique beauty, its distinct beaches, and excellent tourist infrastructure make it one of the most beloved destinations for holidays in the Cyclades. If you haven’t visited yet, now is the time. And if you’ve been before, then you already know— and you’ll come back for fantastic vacations.
