Located in the most enviable vantage point, Villa Aphordite in Oia in Santorini, is a historic neoclassical Sea Captain’s house which has been registered as a “cultural heritage building”. Built around 1870 by a well-known Greek ship owner stands out for its glorious ambiance. The recent renovation incorporates in an authentic -yet contemporary manner- the island’s finest traditional architectural elements. Hand-finished “built-in” beds, sofas and tables in organic shapes, sculptured forms and fluid lines. Plastered walls recreate the caldera’s texture in colors ranging from bright white to earthly, elegant pastel hues.

Villa Aphrodite can accommodate up to eight people in four bedrooms, which have all distinct “personalities”.

On the ground floor the master suite comes with high vaulted ceilings, king size “built-in” bed, walk-in closet, en-suite bathroom and its own veranda. Also on the ground floor next to the inner terrace, a second suite features grout colored terracotta floor, Cycladic white textured walls, king size double bed, spacious wardrobe and en-suite bathroom. Both rooms have direct access to the first floor and the terrace.

On the first floor the third double bedroom, with textured Cycladic white walls, has its private balcony with stunning views of the sunset and the neighboring islands.

Also on the first floor, overlooking the inner yard, is the fourth double bedroom which can be arranged with single beds. This room has two large windows that provide plenty of daylight. Both rooms on the first floor are just a few steps away from the “take your breath away” terrace. The rooms share a common bathroom with a skylight window. An extra bed & bathroom that can be found on the basement that usually hosts service personnel.

Over the years, distinguished guests, prominent politicians, prime ministers, ship-owners, international business personalities, intellectuals and family friends have enjoyed the generous hospitality of Villa Aphrodite. And for our movie fans ! Hollywood blockbusters such as Summer Lovers (1980) and Lara Croft (2002) were filmed in the surrounding area.
